Presenting Galliard celebrates Matthew Carter’s 1978 typeface named Galliard, a contemporary adaptation of Robert Granjon’s original 16th-century design.

The forms and narrative of this piece were inspired by the popular 16th-century European dance for which the typeface was named. The goal in choosing this design was to convey the lively nature of the dance and convey a sense of lyrical and musical qualities.
