Poster Design | Collage
Type Text Talk is a promotional poster for a typographic conference geared towards all lovers of typography. The main visual on the poster was created by collaging classic instruments related to design and typography — pieces of a printing press, a typewriter, and the original Apple Macintosh. I lovingly refer to him as “TyBot the Robot” and he serves as the mascot of the conference. The back of the poster details more of the conference schedule and includes more collage work, showcasing different typefaces, a calligraphy brush, and neon signage. All images were chosen intentionally, pulling from details of the conference.
Typographic Expressions
The following studies are exercises in typographic exploration using the conference information. The challenge was to create multiple compositions based on certain design constraints. The main objective was to ensure that each design was distinctly different and presented complex information to the viewer in a clear way.
